Hosting
Servers we administer ourselves.
Not a reseller account with a logo on it. When you ask for a rewrite rule or a MIME type, we open the config and add it.
What is included
Every hosted site gets all of this. There is no tier where backups cost extra.
Security
SSL certificate
Issued, installed, and renewed automatically. HTTPS everywhere, with HTTP traffic redirected.
Recovery
Daily backups
Retained on a rolling schedule so a mistake made on Tuesday can be undone on Thursday.
Availability
Uptime monitoring
Automated checks that page us when a site stops responding.
Routing
DNS management
Records kept correct, including the redirect and email records people usually get wrong.
Email routing
SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured so your mail is trusted rather than filtered.
Server
Config access
Rewrite rules, MIME types, custom error pages, cache headers — changed on request, not ticketed.
Moving an existing site to us
Migrations are routine and normally happen with no visible downtime.
How it goes
We copy the site to our server and get it working there first, while your current host keeps serving live traffic. Once it is verified, we cut the DNS over. If something is wrong, we point DNS back — the old site is still sitting there untouched.
What we need from you
Access to your current hosting or a copy of the files and database, plus access to whoever controls your domain's DNS. If you are not sure who that is, we can usually work it out from public records.
Honest limits
Things a big provider does that we do not, so you can decide with the facts.
Single-region infrastructure
We do not run a global CDN or multi-region failover. For a business serving East Texas that is not a meaningful difference. For a high-traffic e-commerce operation shipping nationwide, a large provider may serve you better, and we will say so rather than take the work.
Support hours, honestly stated
We are a small shop, not a 24/7 NOC. Monitoring runs around the clock and we respond to outages as fast as we can, but see the service level page for what we actually commit to in writing rather than what sounds good in marketing copy.
Your files are yours
If you leave, you leave with everything. We will hand over your site files, database, and DNS records, and we will not hold a domain hostage to collect a final invoice. That is written into our terms of service, not just promised here. We would rather you stay because it is working than because leaving is painful.
