Acceptable Use Policy
Effective July 24, 2026 · Digital Network Designs LLC
Contents
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses hosting or other network services provided by Digital Network Designs LLC ("DND"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
The purpose is simple: our servers are shared infrastructure. What one site does affects the others, and it affects our standing with upstream providers and with the people who maintain email deliverability blocklists. This policy is what keeps that from becoming your neighbor's problem.
1. Prohibited content and activity
You may not use our services to store, transmit, publish, or link to:
Illegal material
- Child sexual abuse material. We report this to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement, and we terminate the account immediately and without notice.
- Content that violates any applicable federal, state, or local law.
- Material that infringes copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights. See our DMCA policy.
- Content that violates export control or sanctions laws.
Harmful and abusive content
- Material that threatens, harasses, stalks, or incites violence against any person or group.
- Content promoting terrorism or violent extremism.
- Doxxing — publishing private information about someone without consent with intent to harm.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery.
Fraud and deception
- Phishing pages, fake login screens, or sites impersonating another business or individual.
- Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, and fraudulent business opportunities.
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, or exploit kits, including hosting them for "research" or "educational" purposes.
- Deceptive advertising or false claims about products and services.
Adult content
We do not host pornography or sexually explicit material. This is a business decision about the kind of platform we run, not a moral judgment, and it applies regardless of the material's legality.
2. Technical restrictions
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or network, whether ours or anyone else's.
- Scan, probe, or test the vulnerability of systems you do not own without written authorization.
- Launch or participate in denial-of-service attacks.
- Run processes that consume disproportionate CPU, memory, disk I/O, or bandwidth and degrade service for other clients. Cryptocurrency mining is specifically prohibited.
- Operate open mail relays, open proxies, or open DNS resolvers.
- Use the service primarily as remote file storage, backup, or a media distribution point unconnected to a website.
- Circumvent resource limits, or resell hosting resources without a written reseller agreement.
3. Email and messaging
Unsolicited bulk email is prohibited, without exception. This includes:
- Sending to purchased, scraped, harvested, or rented address lists.
- Sending commercial email without a working unsubscribe mechanism and a valid physical address, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires.
- Forging headers, falsifying sender information, or using misleading subject lines.
- Hosting a website advertised by spam sent from anywhere, including from a third party you hired.
Spam is the fastest way to get a shared IP address onto a blocklist, at which point every client's legitimate email stops being delivered. We treat spam complaints seriously and act quickly.
4. Your security responsibilities
Most compromised sites are compromised through the client's own software or credentials, not the server. You agree to:
- Keep any CMS, plugins, themes, and applications you control patched and current. Outdated WordPress plugins are the single most common cause of the sites we have to clean up.
- Use strong, unique passwords and keep credentials confidential.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect an account has been compromised.
- Not install software that creates a security risk to the server or other clients.
If your site is compromised, we may take it offline to protect the platform while it is cleaned. We would rather work with you on this than surprise you, and we will always try to reach you first where the situation allows.
5. How we enforce this
Our response depends on what happened and how urgent it is:
- Ordinary violations: we contact you, explain the problem, and give you a reasonable period to fix it.
- Ongoing or repeated violations: we may suspend the affected site or account until it is resolved.
- Active harm — a site sending spam, distributing malware, phishing, running an attack, or destabilizing the server — may be suspended immediately, with notice to follow.
- Illegal material is removed immediately, the account is terminated, and we report it to the appropriate authorities.
We may preserve and disclose content or account information where we reasonably believe it necessary to comply with law, enforce this policy, or protect the rights or safety of anyone.
Fees paid for a period during which service is suspended for an AUP violation are not refundable. We will act in good faith and proportionately, but the final judgment about what runs on our servers is ours.
6. Reporting a violation
To report a site we host that you believe violates this policy, email abuse@digitalnetworkdesigns.com with the URL, a description of the problem, and any supporting evidence such as email headers or timestamps. We investigate every report we receive. For copyright complaints specifically, follow the procedure in our DMCA policy.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as new abuse patterns appear. Material changes will be announced by email or a notice on this site. Continuing to use our services after the effective date means you accept the update.
